UJ Reconstructed examines the meaning of data collected through research at Umm el-Jimal by starting to piece back together—in three dimensions and in time—what the ancient Byzantine town could have looked like during its 5th-6th century AD period of growth. As a model for continuing work in this cutting-edge area of research, the current page explores the Praetorium and the Later Castellum (‘Barracks’).  Also briefly introduced are House XVIII, House 119, and the West Church.
